At first I thought this was a sparrow, then a finch, but it doesn't look quite like anything in the bird book I picked up.The second one is another bird from my backyard.....not sure what this one is either :)
.....and then one of my dog Cooper. Good boy......it was a good day of shooting :)

My son and I were working on a Science project most of the day on the effects of the atmosphere on Sunlight. We wanted to get a shot of the spectrum from a prism.

Spent most of the day at a local Photo Club workshop on Photoshop and Studio Lighting. We had a model to practice with using an Alien Bees Strobe setup. Didn't have much time to shoot as there were 20 more photographers behind me waiting their turn. It was a fun day though

The Great Hunter. I'm not sure what this cat thought he was going to do with a goose if he caught one, but luckily for him, they flew away a couple of seconds later. I knew I had to get this shot so didn't have time to change ISO to get a faster shutter speed. Luckily the VR on the Nikkor 18-200 works pretty well.

I had to really rush to get this one in today. Got home at 11:15 and needed to shoot something. I was trying out a very inexpensive studio light kit I picked up the other day. This was with one 250 watt 3200k monolight reflected off an umbrella. It needs more headroom at the top, but I ran out of time :) Have to try this one again later.

My wife woke me up at about 6:00 AM to tell me her daughter had gone into labor. We live in NC and she lives in NY, where she moved last Sept. Ellen is obviously happy to be seeing her daughter again and also that she's about to become a "grammy" :)
